Bernie Gates has long been associated with the promotion of Canadian decoys and wrote the first comprehensive study on Ontario carvers, Ontario Decoys (1982), and its sequel, Ontario Decoys II (1986).

Jeff Mewburn is a decoy restoration expert and research associate at Queen’s University. He joined forces with Bernie in 2002 to research Nichol decoys and organize an exhibition for the Canadian Decoy and Outdoor Collectibles Association.

 William C. Reeve, Professor of German at Queen’s University, is the author of Peter M. Pringle: Master Decoy Maker (2002). He organized a display of Pringle and Anger decoys for the Canadian Decoy and Outdoor Collectibles Association.
